البقرة · The Cow · verse 189 of 286
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْأَهِلَّةِ قُلْ هِيَ مَوَاقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَالْحَجِّ وَلَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنِ اتَّقَىٰ وَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Yasaloonaka AAani alahillati qul hiya mawaqeetu lilnnasi waalhajji walaysa albirru bian tatoo albuyoota min thuhooriha walakinna albirra mani ittaqa watoo albuyoota min abwabiha waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tuflihoona

Hilali & KhanThey ask you (O Muhammad) about the crescents. Say: "These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage." It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc.) that you enter the houses from the back, but Al-Birr is from Taqwa. So enter houses through their proper doors, and have Taqwa of Allah that you may be successful.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)لوگ آپ سے چاند کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں آپ کہہ دیجیئے کہ یہ لوگوں (کی عبادت) کے وقتوں اور حج کے موسم کے لئے ہے (احرام کی حالت میں) اور گھروں کے پیچھے سے تمہارا آنا کچھ نیکی نہیں، بلکہ نیکی واﻻ وه ہے جو متقی ہو۔ اور گھروں میں تو دروازوں میں سے آیا کرو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو، تاکہ تم کامیاب ہوجاؤ
