قَالُوا ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّنْ لَنَا مَا هِيَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَا فَارِضٌ وَلَا بِكْرٌ عَوَانٌ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ فَافْعَلُوا مَا تُؤْمَرُونَ
Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la faridun wala bikrun AAawanun bayna thalika faifAAaloo ma tumaroona

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)انہوں نے کہا اے موسیٰ! دعا کیجیئے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ہمارے لئے اس کی ماہیت بیان کردے، آپ نے فرمایا سنو! وه گائے نہ تو بالکل بڑھیا ہو، نہ بچہ، بلکہ درمیانی عمر کی نوجوان ہو، اب جو تمہیں حکم دیا گیا ہے بجا لاؤ
