أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَثَارُوا الْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim kanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharoo alarda waAAamarooha akthara mimma AAamarooha wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)کیا انہوں نے زمین پر چل پھر کر یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ ان سے پہلے لوگوں کا انجام کیسا (برا) ہوا؟ وه ان سے بہت زیاده توانا (اور طاقتور) تھے اور انہوں نے (بھی) زمین بوئی جوتی تھی اور ان سے زیاده آباد کی تھی اور ان کے پاس ان کے رسول روشن دﻻئل لے کر آئے تھے۔ یہ تو ناممکن تھا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان پر ﻇلم کرتا لیکن (دراصل) وه خود اپنی جانوں پر ﻇلم کرتے تھے
