وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ أَقَامُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَأَكَلُوا مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ مِنْهُمْ أُمَّةٌ مُقْتَصِدَةٌ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ سَاءَ مَا يَعْمَلُونَ
Walaw annahum aqamoo alttawrata waalinjeela wama onzila ilayhim min rabbihim laakaloo min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim minhum ommatun muqtasidatun wakatheerun minhum saa ma yaAAmaloona

And among them is a Muqtasid Ummah, but for most of them; evil is their work.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)اور اگر یہ لوگ تورات وانجیل اور ان کی جانب جو کچھ اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے نازل فرمایا گیا ہے، ان کے پورے پابند رہتے تو یہ لوگ اپنے اوپر سے اور نیچے سے روزیاں پاتے اور کھاتے، ایک جماعت تو ان میں سے درمیانہ روش کی ہے، باقی ان میں سے بہت سے لوگوں کے برے اعمال ہیں
