Surah Al-Muddaththir, Ayah 31
المدثر · The Cloaked One · verse 31 of 56
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًا كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ
Wama jaAAalna ashaba alnnari illa malaikatan wama jaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitaba wayazdada allatheena amanoo eemanan wala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitaba waalmuminoona waliyaqoola allatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalkafiroona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalika yudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wama hiya illa thikra lilbashari

Hilali & KhanAnd We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire. And We have fixed their number only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the People of the Scripture may arrive at a certainty and that the believers may increase in faith, and that no doubt may be left for the People of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers may say: "What does Allah intend by this example" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this is nothing but a reminder to mankind.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)ہم نے دوزخ کے داروغے صرف فرشتے رکھے ہیں۔ اور ہم نے ان کی تعداد صرف کافروں کی آزمائش کے لیے مقرر کی ہے تاکہ اہل کتاب یقین کرلیں، اوراہل ایمان کے ایمان میں اضافہ ہو جائے اور اہل کتاب اور اہل ایمان شک نہ کریں اور جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے وه اور کافر کہیں کہ اس بیان سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی کیا مراد ہے؟ اسی طرح اللہ تعالیٰ جسے چاہتا ہے گمراه کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت دیتا ہے۔ تیرے رب کے لشکروں کو اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا، یہ تو کل بنی آدم کے لیے سراسر پند ونصیحت ہے
