Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 69
التوبة · The Repentance · verse 69 of 129
كَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْكُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرَ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا فَاسْتَمْتَعُوا بِخَلَاقِهِمْ فَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِخَلَاقِكُمْ كَمَا اسْتَمْتَعَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِخَلَاقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَالَّذِي خَاضُوا أُولَٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
Kaallatheena min qablikum kanoo ashadda minkum quwwatan waakthara amwalan waawladan faistamtaAAoo bikhalaqihim faistamtaAAtum bikhalaqikum kama istamtaAAa allatheena min qablikum bikhalaqihim wakhudtum kaallathee khadoo olaika habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waalakhirati waolaika humu alkhasiroona

Hilali & KhanLike those before you: they were mightier than you in power, and more abundant in wealth and children. They had enjoyed their portion (a while), so enjoy your portion (a while) as those before you enjoyed their portion (a while); and you indulged in play and pastime as they indulged in play and pastime. Such are they whose deeds are in vain in this world and in the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)مثل ان لوگوں کے جو تم سے پہلے تھے، تم میں سے وه زیاده قوت والے تھے اور زیاده مال واوﻻد والے تھے پس وه اپنا دینی حصہ برت گئے پھر تم نے بھی اپنا حصہ برت لیا جیسے تم سے پہلے کے لوگ اپنے حصے سے فائده مند ہوئے تھے اور تم نے بھی اسی طرح مذاقانہ بحﺚ کی جیسے کہ انہوں نے کی تھی۔ ان کے اعمال دنیا اور آخرت میں غارت ہوگئے۔ یہی لوگ نقصان پانے والے ہیں
