فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّا آمَنُوا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
Falawla kanat qaryatun amanat fanafaAAaha eemanuha illa qawma yoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna AAanhum AAathaba alkhizyi fee alhayati alddunya wamattaAAnahum ila heenin

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)چنانچہ کوئی بستی ایمان نہ ﻻئی کہ ایمان ﻻنا اس کو نافع ہوتا سوائے یونس ﴿علیہ السلام﴾ کی قوم کے۔ جب وه ایمان لے آئے تو ہم نے رسوائی کے عذاب کو دنیوی زندگی میں ان پر سے ٹال دیا اور ان کو ایک وقت (خاص) تک کے لیے زندگی سے فائده اٹھانے (کا موقع) دیا
