Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 44

وَأَنْذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ الْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا رَبَّنَا أَخِّرْنَا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَقْسَمْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ زَوَالٍ
Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena thalamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awalam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin

Hilali & KhanAnd warn mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrongdoers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said:) "Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter)."

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)لوگوں کو اس دن سے ہوشیار کردے جب کہ ان کے پاس عذاب آجائے گا، اور ﻇالم کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے رب ہمیں بہت تھوڑے قریب کے وقت تک کی ہی مہلت دے کہ ہم تیری تبلیﻎ مان لیں اور تیرے پیغمبروں کی تابعداری میں لگ جائیں۔ کیا تم اس سے پہلے بھی قسمیں نہیں کھا رہے تھے؟ کہ تمہارے لیے دنیا سے ٹلنا ہی نہیں
