Surah An-Nisa, Ayah 94
النساء · The Women · verse 94 of 176
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ أَلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَعِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ كُنْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha darabtum fee sabeeli Allahi fatabayyanoo wala taqooloo liman alqa ilaykumu alssalama lasta muminan tabtaghoona AAarada alhayati alddunya faAAinda Allahi maghanimu katheeratun kathalika kuntum min qablu famanna Allahu AAalaykum fatabayyanoo inna Allaha kana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran

Hilali & KhanO you who believe! When you go (to fight) in the cause of Allah, verify (the truth), and say not to anyone who greets you: "You are not a believer;" seeking the perishable goods of the worldly life. There is much more benefit with Allah. Even as he is now, so were you yourselves before, till Allah conferred on you His Favors, therefore, be cautious in discrimination. Allah is Ever Well-Aware of what you do.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)اے ایمان والو! جب تم اللہ کی راه میں جا رہے ہو تو تحقیق کر لیا کرو اور جو تم سے سلام علیک کرے تو اسے یہ نہ کہہ دو کہ تو ایمان واﻻ نہیں۔ تم دنیاوی زندگی کے اسباب کی تلاش میں ہو تو اللہ تعالیٰ کے پاس بہت سی غنیمتیں ہیں۔ پہلے تم بھی ایسے ہی تھے، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے تم پر احسان کیا لہٰذا تم ضرور تحقیق وتفتیش کر لیا کرو، بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ تمہارے اعمال سے باخبر ہے
