لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ دَرَجَةً وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَىٰ وَفَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
La yastawee alqaAAidoona mina almumineena ghayru olee alddarari waalmujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalihim waanfusihim faddala Allahu almujahideena biamwalihim waanfusihim AAala alqaAAideena darajatan wakullan waAAada Allahu alhusna wafaddala Allahu almujahideena AAala alqaAAideena ajran AAatheeman

Hilali & KhanNot equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled, and those who strive hard and fight in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home), by a huge reward.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)اپنی جانوں اور مالوں سے اللہ کی راه میں جہاد کرنے والے مومن اور بغیر عذر کے بیٹھ رہنے والے مومن برابر نہیں، اپنے مالوں اور اپنی جانوں سے جہاد کرنے والوں کو بیٹھ رہنے والوں پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے درجوں میں بہت فضیلت دے رکھی ہے اور یوں تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہر ایک کو خوبی اور اچھائی کا وعده دیا ہے لیکن مجاہدین کو بیٹھ رہنے والوں پر بہت بڑے اجر کی فضیلت دے رکھی ہے
